Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel - review - 10 ways to use aloe vera gel

I don't know why, but i put this review on hold for a really long time now, maybe even years?! I kept using it, and now i'm on my second pot, and that says a lot about this product. I did try the aloe and snail version from Missha as well, and the one from The Face Shop, but my skin loves the Nature Republic version more. Why?
Because all of these products, basically have the same properties, but the NR aloe vera gel is more suitable for my sensitive skin. For example, as much as i liked the aloe & snail combo from Missha, my eyes were burning up as soon as that product reached my eye area. The same thing happened with Jeju Aloe 99% from The Face Shop.
Now that i'm almost done with my second pot of Nature Republic gel, as you might have noticed in the pictures, i think i would go for the Laneige Water Bank gel cream, or Cucumber Water Gel from Tony Moly. I've heard so many good things about these products.
Did you try any of these korean beauties? How did your skin reacted to them?

Ati incercat aceste produse coreene? Cum v-ati inteles cu ele?

Different ways of using aloe vera gel:

1. Moisturizer (as a make-up base)
I love, i absolutely adore to apply this gel in the scorching heat of the summer days. It keeps my skin hydrated, and it's a really good make-up base, non-greasy. I like to apply it underneath my good ol' trusty Bioderma sunscreen, then start my make-up routine.
Quick-tip: put a small amount on your beauty blender and then blend your foundation. You're going to like what you see after you're done blending.

2. Face Mask
Sensitive, irritated, dry, patchy, burned skin - this baby got you covered! Just take a little bit of product, pat it on your skin, then apply a second layer, but this time, a little thicker, and leave it like that. In say, 20 minutes, it will all be absorbed into your skin, leaving it super soft, smooth, clear and luminous.

3. Hair Mask (hair treatment)
Oh yeah~ You might find this a little bit odd, but i also like to apply this gel on my hair, especially at the tips. Dry ends anyone? Nope, not anymore.
Also, you can apply it at the roots too, as a treatment, but after i wash my hair, sometimes, instead of using my moroccan oil, i use this aloe vera gel. You don't need to wash it off, because it will dry normally, without leaving it stiff or matte. Nope, all shiny, smooth and easy to brush your fingers through.

4. Cooling eye patches (for swollen, puffy eyes)
You know those korean eye patches, filled with a lot of serum/product? Well, you can make your own, at home. You can use a cotton pad, cut it in two, apply some gel right in the center, then put them over your eyes. Bye bye puffy, swollen eyes!
If you don't have time in the morning, just take some product on your finger, apply it around your eye area and pat it till it gets absorbed. Same thing goes for your lips.

5. Nail essence/treatment
Your cuticle treatment is finito? No worries girlie.
Just pop some of this gel on your hands, or cuticle area, let it sit for a while, and you're good to go.
The good thing about this is that it doesn't leave a greasy layer on your skin, so can do your manicure as soon as it dries up.

6. After shaving (calm the skin)
Oh, i hate it when my skin gets red after i shave. Well, aloe vera is good for a lot of things, but more importantly, it calms down the skin and heals. You can even pop some of this gel on your man's face, after he shaves. He will thank you!

7. Heals burn, rashes, cuts, yes, even bug bites
Hence number 7. If you cut yourself by accident, or burn your fingers in the kitchen (hello clumsy!), or bugs bite your skin in the summer, just put some of this gel on that spot. Instant relief~

8. Cooling sensation for irritated skin
Just take some more product on your fingers and apply it exactly where you need it. I usually need it around my eye area. That is where i usually get irritated.

9. Mix it with an oil and use it as a body lotion
I don't really use it like this because i will loose that cooling effect this gel gives me. But if anyone needs an extra kick of hydration, you can mix it with an oil of your choosing. I prefer lavender, because it helps me sleep well. Also, by mixing these two up, it will get absorbed more quickly into your skin. So no more waiting for your moisturizer to dry up.

10. Brightens skin, decreasing pigmentation, dark and red spots
As i said before, it's good as a face mask as well, but by using it regularly, you can see that the spots on your face are healing a great deal.
