Versatile neutral eyeshadow palette - three make-up looks, one palette

by - March 08, 2016

When i think "neutral palette", i think warm colors and earthy tones. More often than not, most palettes are either warm or cold toned, but never both. There are exceptions of course, but most girls reach out to grab warm toned eyeshadows.
Personally, i love cold toned ones. Why? Because of the color of my eyes. Since they are green with a little bit of toffee speckles around the pupil, if i put a warm color, let's say a vintage gold like the one in the palette down below, that specific gold-ish color will bring out all the brown in my eyes.
If i switch to a cool toned gold color, then the green will pop out more than the brown.
I know that there are certain colors that compliment our eyes best *complementary colors*, but it's important to find the ones work best for us. Not every purple will bring out the green in our eyes, especially if we already have blue-ish, purple-ish dark circles, and not every orange or red-ish color will work well for blue eyes. Same thing applies with the other eye colors.

Even though this is a no name brand palette, i've used it like cray-cray lately because it has everything i need in it. The eyebrow and contour powder works really well for my skin tone, since they're both cool toned. I also love the fact that i have a couple of shimmery eyeshadows *cue the perfect burgundy shade, the vintage gold and the champagne color for highlighting*, some of them have a slight shimmer in them, and a couple of matte ones. The mattes are the basics: a flesh toned color, a matte black which you can use as an eyeliner too and a couple of peachy and rosy transitioning colors.
They're all very pigmented and blend together well, even without a primer.
And did i mention how cool is the packaging? It looks like a tablet. Honestly, i almost mistook it for my e-reader once. :))

I tried to create different looks with this palette to show it's versatility and i hope i got things right. We have the halo eyes with that beautiful vintage gold, the purple look, really winged out, and the bold lips/rosy colors on my eyes.

As usual, let me know what you think. Which look is your favorite? I love your feedback!
Have a lovely day!
