~ DIY: How to make your own eye primer ~

by - January 17, 2012

Buna fetelor!

Craciun am ramas si eu fara el *good timing, right?* :))
Hai sa va arat cum am reusit sa imi fac minunatia asta. Nici nu mai dau bani pe
altceva. Anul asta incerc sa fiu mai cumpatata la bani, or at least i hope so.
bine-bine toate produsele;

- o pensulica sau o scobitoare *sterilizate*;

iar zona ochilor este mai sensibila decat restul fetei; ele pun body butter;

aproximativ 15 ml.

Hello girls!

Today i want to show you how to make your own homemade primer.
I actually ran out of it before Christmas *great timing, right?* ..so i took a look at the stuff i already had in my home and well... decided to quickly make my own.

Here's what you need:
- an empty jar to mix everything together; be sure it's something clean;

- a small brush or a tooth pick;

- foundation *i used one from Maybelline, the color doesn't suit me anymore, but it doesn't matter, you apply eyeshadow on top of it anyway*

- i've watched some YouTube videos and saw that some bloggers don't use eye cream, which personally, i think it's a MUST!
I mean, it is an eye primer and the skin around the eyes is more sensitive than the rest of the face, you have to take care of it. You can use body butter like them, but i didn't.

- this is actually optional: i used a light face lotion with SPF 20. I think the colors blend more nicely that way.

- mineral powder, but if you don't have one, you can finely chop a little corner from your pressed one and put it on a clean white paper and take a spoon or something to crumble the powder;

- i actually used a Nivea cream; i use that on my face, on my hands, on my body, it's a good cream to have in your house. It's good for everything! And it's cheap too  :))

- after you're done mixing together everything, you can take the composition and put it in a little jar like i did, it has aprox. 15ml. It's enough for me, i don't think i need another primer for now, my homemade one is good enough :))
But you can skip this step and put everything where you want your primer to be, but i didn't want to have clots/lumps in it from the powder, so that's why i choose something big to mix everything together first, to see the color and texture. I don't want my primer to be too thick or to liquid.

~hold your little jar with the head down, if it doesn't fall off, that means it's ready~

~aici am folosit movul din dreapta sus, paletuta este de la Avon - Lace Electric;

~here i have used the purple from the 1st row; the first swatch is without my homemade primer,
the second one ...well, you see the difference~

You can notice now the color difference between my hand and the primer, but it doesn't matter, you apply eyeshadow on top of it anyway.
I hope you found this useful and let me know if you tried my "recipe", i'm curious to know with what you ended up with and if it was good for you.
